Leicester Cityâs Riyad Mahrez named PFA Player of the Year

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez was voted the English footballâs player of the year by the Professional Footballers' Association on Sunday. The Algerian International has been an integral part of Leicester Cityâs reign at the top of the PL table scoring 17 goals and making 11 assists in 34 games.

Mahrez was selected as the Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association after he finished ahead of fellow Leicester City players Jamie Vardy and N'Golo Kante, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, and West Ham United's Dimitri Payet.
Speaking after winning the award, the Algerian thanked his Leicester City teammates and manager Claudio Ranieri for all the success.
âAll the credit is for them, seriously,â he said. âAnd my manager and the staff. Without them, I wouldnât receive this award and I wouldnât score. Itâs the team spirit. I want to dedicate it to them.
