India Moves Closer to Australia Men's Cricket Team in ICC Trophy Tally

The T20 World Cup saw the Indian team add yet another title to their trophy cabinet. Despite that, they still have not leveled with the Australia Men's cricket team, who last won a trophy in 2023. Even with India's prime, they wait to level with the Aussies.

Each team had its prime time in the ICC events, and the Indian team is having one right now. From the T20 World Cup 2024, the team has won all of the ICC events in Men's cricket that have taken place since then. This also meant three ICC Trophies for the team in the last three years.

Still, this has not been enough to ensure that the Indian team is on par with Australia Men's cricket team. While they have not been able to do well in ICC events lately, their prime remains unmatched. Even after India's win at the T20 World Cup, Australia leads the charts with most ICC titles in men's cricket.

The Australia Men's cricket team has won 10 titles overall, which includes 6 World Cup titles. Besides that, the team has won the Champions Trophy twice, the T20 World Cup and the World Test Championship once. India stands behind them with 8 titles to their name. This includes three T20 World Cups, two World Cups, and three Champions Trophy titles.

Our Take

While India has been dominating the ICC events lately, Australia's prime form remains unmatched. Moreover, several teams have struggled to win the World Cup even once. But Australia has won three consecutive World Cup titles in its prime time, winning the tournament in 1999, 2003, and 2007.

Along with that, the team has also been dominant in the Champions Trophy. They have won the Champions Trophy twice and that too on consecutive occasions, winning it in 2006 and 2009. As India continues to dominate in the T20 format, fans wait to see how Australia and India are able to do when these two legendary teams go against each other in the 2027 World Cup.
