IPL 2024 | Twitter laughs at Harshal’s hilariously drawing inspiration from Chahal’s iconic pose

The cricket field has been witness to some of the most hilarious moments of the sporting universe. Punjab Kings’ Harshal Patel just added another in the list by mimicking a Yuzvendra Chahal traditional pose after grabbing a sliding catch to remove Sameer Rizvi in the M. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Ruturaj Gaikwad lost his ninth out of ten tosses in the 2024 Indian Premier League and was compelled to bat first by Punjab Kings leader Sam Curran. Despite the PBKS pacers keeping things tight initially, Ajinkya Rahane and Ruturaj Gaikwad, the CSK openers orchestrated 55 runs inside the powerplay. Right after, the PBKS spinners pegged back at CSK with three wickets and produced 51 balls without a boundary before Rizvi was departed, courtesy of a Harshal Patel catch, followed by a funny celebration.

On the third ball of the 16th over, Kagiso Rabada bowled good length outside the off stump, luring the batter to go for the uppercut. Rizvi tried to help it with the pace, by playing underneath the bounce but ended up offering a catch towards third man. Harshal sprinted from the deep and slided forward to grasp the ball with firm hands and celebrated in a Chahal-like pose. He raised the ball by sitting sideways with crossed legs and resting his head on one palm, that the Twitterverse drew similarities with Chahal’s unique pose.
